
The first “July Martyrs’ Memorial,” dedicated to 21 martyrs, has been constructed in the Hajiganj area of Narayanganj. On Monday (July 14), the memorial was inaugurated by four advisors of the interim government.
They are: Dr. Asif Nazrul, Advisor to the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs and the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment, Adilur Rahman Khan, Advisor to the Ministry of Industries and the Ministry of Housing and Public Works, Professor Dr. Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar, Advisor to the Ministry of Education, Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Advisor to the Ministry of Environment and Forest and Climate Change and the Ministry of Water Resources.
During the inauguration ceremony, speeches were given by Dr. Asif Nazrul, Adilur Rahman Khan, and Syeda Rizwana Hasan. They stated that the July Martyrs’ Memorial was built under the implementation of the Ministry of Housing and Public Works in memory of the martyrs. “Today, we pay heartfelt tribute to the martyrs of Narayanganj. It is through their fresh blood that we have achieved a fascist-free Bangladesh,” they said.
The event concluded with prayers for the departed souls of the martyrs, followed by a tree-planting program.
The 21 martyrs whose names are inscribed on the memorial plaque are: Riya Ghosh, Md. Roman, Arman Molla, Md. Irfan Bhuiyan, Md. Tuhin, Md. Mohsin, Md. Jony, Ibrahim, Md. Swajan, Md. Adil, Parvez Hawlader, Mohammad Farhanul Islam Bhuiyan, Soleman, Imran Hasan, Hazrat Billal, Safiqul, Md. Sajal, Md. Mabrur Husain, Mohammad Mahmudur Rahman Khan, Mohammad Saiful Hasan, and Ahsan Kabir.
