Professor Dr. Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar, Education Advisor, stated that there is no alternative to technical education. "The students of technical education will be the frontline architects of building a new Bangladesh I firmly believe this," he said. “The time has come for us to learn by doing.
The global system has reached a point where mastering technology is essential. At the same time, we need to modernize the madrasa education system as well. The state also wants these students to become technically skilled.”
He made these remarks on Monday, July 7, while speaking at a program organized at Jamiya Islamia Alim Madrasa SSC Vocational School & BM College in Gokuldasher Bagh area of Bandar Upazila, Narayanganj.
Dr. Abrar further said, “There is still reluctance in our society when it comes to technical education. Today, job opportunities are shrinking. But opportunities for technical education—both at home and abroad—are expanding. Parents must realize that their children’s future lies in technical skills.”
“We need to introduce technical education that is in demand in both local and international markets. Our students need to be developed accordingly,” he added. “The government must give special attention to this matter.”
The advisor also recalled the significant movement that took place in July, saying, “It was a powerful movement in which students, teachers, workers, and guardians—all sections of society—participated. These students brought us freedom that month and paved the way to a new Bangladesh.”
He urged every educational institution to organize programs in July to honor the martyrs of the movement, to thank those who participated, and to support the injured in whatever way possible. “The state is doing its part. If someone has been permanently injured, we must help their families in every possible way. That is our collective responsibility,” he emphasized.
Finally, he said, “Those who are elected as public representatives in the future must work with us to fulfill the people’s dreams—to reshape our society for the better.”
Among others present at the event were Narayanganj Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Zahidul Islam Mia, Superintendent of Police Protyush Kumar Majumder, and the institution’s President Md. Jamal Uddin Mia.
