Import-export activities partially resume at Ctg customs

After a two-day suspension, import-export operations at Custom House, Chattogram restarted on a limited scale on Sunday evening. Cargo handling at the port has also begun to return to normal.

However, full-scale operations at the port are expected to resume from today (Monday).

According to port sources, customs officials began working at the port gates in the evening, allowing limited delivery of imported goods to commence. Meanwhile, export operations have also resumed as customs officials returned to duty at private inland container depots (ICDs).

Import-export activities at the customs house came to a halt on Saturday morning due to a complete shutdown program by NBR officials and employees. This had a ripple effect on the country's principal seaport. While some import goods were delivered on Saturday, operations came to a complete standstill on Sunday. Export activities also remained suspended, resulting in a near-paralysis of regular port operations.
