BNP Joint Secretary Shahiduddin Chowdhury Anee said that there is a conspiracy behind the demand for elections under the Proportional Representation (PR) Voting System.
He made the remark on Monday at a meeting organized by Bangladesh Jatiotabadi Ulama Dal at Diploma Engineers Institution in the Capital.
Mentioning that there is a conspiracy behind the demand, he said, “We have to think who will be benefited if the voting system is followed. If the plot is succeed then fascists will be the beneficiary.”
“BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has given morale to the July movement. He has given courage,” Anee said, adding that so did BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia.
He highlighted the role of BNP and its affiliate organizations’ leaders and activists’ dedication to the movement. He said, “BNP activists didn’t show their back. Sheikh Hasina has to flee as everyone was united in the movement under the leadership of Tarique Rahman.”
