The Election Commission (EC) has reinstated the registration of political party Jamaat-e-Islami with its old symbol 'Scales'. The Election Commission issued a notification in this regard on Tuesday afternoon.
Akhter Ahmed, senior secretary of the Election Commission Secretariat, told Bangladesh Pratidin that Jamaat has regained its registration with its Scales symbol.
After a long legal battle and registration complications, the party has returned to active politics with the allocation of the symbol.
