Students again protest over 9 demands for RU reforms, including RUCSU

Rajshahi University (RU) students started a protest march from Paris Road on Sunday noon and took a position in front of the administrative building, demanding nine points for RU reforms. They have protested several times before with these demands.

In this time, the protesting students said, "They have been making these 9-point demands for a long time, but due to the silent role of the administration, they have been forced to go for a strict program this time. Their demands are announcement of a roadmap for full residency, roll-free assessment of exam papers and opportunity to challenge papers, 24-hour security on the campus, upgrading the medical center to a full-fledged medical center with 50 beds, making all administrative activities digital and online-based, adequate subsidy for quality food in the hall dining, infrastructural and technological renovation of the central library, implementation of full TSCC, and early announcement of the full schedule of RUCSU.

Former coordinator Salahuddin Ammar said, "These 9 points are fair and timely demands of the students. Only goodwill and administrative initiative are enough to implement them".

Another student, Ariful Islam, said, "We will continue the movement until our demands are met. If necessary, we will take more stringent measures."

In the protest march, the students circled various important roads on the campus and took up positions in front of the administrative building. The protesters announced that they would continue the movement until their demands are met.
