Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh organized a protest rally on Friday in the Baitul Mukarram Mosque area, raising four primary demands including the abolition of the Women’s Reform Commission. The demonstration began shortly after Jummah prayers on the north side of the mosque, with a large turnout of Hefazat leaders and supporters.
The rally was arranged by the Dhaka Metropolitan Branch of the organization.
During the gathering, Hefazat leaders announced their demands: abolishing the Women's Reform Commission, ensuring justice for all victims of state violence including incidents at Shapla Chattar and in July of previous years, the withdrawal of what they claim are false legal cases filed against Hefazat members, and an end to the alleged genocide of Muslims in Palestine and India.
Speakers at the protest condemned domestic and international policies they argue discriminate against Muslims. They also accused authorities of targeting Islamic groups with fabricated charges, calling for immediate legal redress.
On the same day, another group called the National Revolutionary Council held a separate rally in Dhaka, advocating for the independence of Palestine, Kashmir, and Arakan (Rohingya), reflecting a broader movement of regional Islamic solidarity.
