The High Court (HC) on Thursday dismissed a writ petition challenging the Election Commission's (EC) declaration of BNP leader Ishraque Hossain as the Dhaka South City Corporation mayor.
The bench of Justice Akram Chowdhury and Justice Debashish Rai Chowdhury delivered the verdict in this regard, allowing Ishraque to take the oath as DSCC mayor, his lawyers said.
The verdict would likely put an end to road BNP's blockades enforced in and around the Kakrail area as well as the suspension of all activities at Nagar Bhaban.
