Marine Students Boycott Classes Over Three-Point Demand

Students of the Narayanganj Institute of Marine Technology staged a class boycott on Saturday (May 17) at 11 am, in response to a call from the Central Marine and Shipbuilding Diploma Student Welfare Council.

During the protest at the Bandar Marine Institute campus, students stated, "We, the students of the Marine and Shipbuilding Diploma Department of the Bangladesh Institute of Marine Technology, Narayanganj, are peacefully demonstrating to draw the government's attention to our long-standing demands, particularly concerning the issuance of the CDC (Continuous Discharge Certificate)."

They further stated, "We will continue to boycott classes on Sunday, May 18. If no decision is made by then, we will initiate a complete shutdown from Monday, May 19."

The students emphasized that their sole purpose is to raise awareness about students' rightful demands, not to create any chaos. They affirmed their commitment to maintaining the institute’s rules and discipline during their protest.
