First aid to save life

In order to save people's lives during disasters, it is necessary to take first aid training to all the people of the society, said doctors at training on Basic First Aid.

“When our youth receive this training, loss of life and damage in any disaster will be reduced. As this training can protect oneself and one's family, it will also benefit the helpless people of the country,” said Dr Samir Hossain Mishu.

Bangladesh Red Crescent Society Bogura unit arrange the two-day training for journalists.

The two-day training programme covers basic first aid for disaster and accident victims, first aid for snake bites, first aid for burn victims, and methods of stopping bleeding in case of accidental injury.

General members of Bangladesh Red Crescent Society Bogura Unit and Bogra Sadar Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Samir Hossain Mishu provided training to the journalists.

Rafi Akhter, head of Youth Volunteers of Jubo Red Crescent Bogura, Montasir Monayem Safat, head of ICT, Media and Communication Department of Jubo Red Crescent Bogura, and Moinul Islam, deputy head of Department of Training and Co-educational Department of Jubo Red Crescent Bogura, among other, provided the training started on Friday.

Senior journalists Abu Said, Protik Omar, Md Mizanur Rahman Himadri, Imran Hossain Likhon, Enam Ahmed, Rahat Rupantar and many others participated in the training.
