Malaysia to issue multiple entry visas for Bangladeshi workers: Adviser Asif Nazrul

Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Adviser Asif Nazrul announced on Tuesday that the Malaysian government has agreed to issue multiple entry visas for Bangladeshi workers.

“I have good news for our brothers and sisters working in Malaysia. We have received official confirmation that Bangladeshi workers will now be granted multiple entry visas,” Nazrul wrote on his verified Facebook page.

He recounted that during a visit to Malaysia in May, his delegation met with the Malaysian Home Minister to raise concerns about visa inequality. “We informed him that Bangladeshi workers were being issued single entry visas, while workers from other countries received multiple entry visas. The minister was surprised and immediately asked his officials for clarification. Upon confirmation, he ordered them to resolve the issue,” said Nazrul, who also serves as the Adviser on Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs.

Following the meeting, the adviser said his office remained in regular contact with Malaysian counterparts to ensure implementation of the decision. “We have now received official confirmation that the issue has been resolved,” he added.

Nazrul also noted that a Bangladeshi delegation is currently visiting Malaysia, with another high-level team expected to travel there next month. “We are hopeful of sharing more good news for our workers soon,” he said.
