Bangladesh invites Egyptian investors to tap into key growth sectors

Bangladesh has extended a formal invitation to Egyptian entrepreneurs to invest in its growing sectors, including infrastructure, power and energy, tourism, and hospitality.

The call was made by Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Adviser to the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and the Ministry of Water Resources, at a reception in Dhaka celebrating the 73rd anniversary of the Egyptian Revolution.

On behalf of the Government of Bangladesh, Rizwana Hasan congratulated the Government and people of Egypt on their National Day and emphasized the strong foundation of Bangladesh-Egypt ties, rooted in shared history, culture, and trust.

She highlighted growing bilateral cooperation in areas such as trade, education, agriculture, and energy, and noted the significance of the newly established direct air connectivity between Bangladesh and Egypt as a catalyst for strengthening people-to-people relations.

Reflecting on a past visit to Egypt, Rizwana Hasan praised the country’s rich heritage, museums, and the enduring beauty of the Nile. “Every Egyptian can be proud of their glorious history and cultural legacy,” she said.

She commended the proactive efforts of the Egyptian Embassy in fostering stronger ties and referenced recent high-level exchanges, including the Foreign Affairs Adviser’s visit to Cairo in December 2024 and a bilateral meeting held in February 2025.

Rizwana Hasan expressed appreciation for Egypt’s proposed scholarships for Bangladeshi students and reaffirmed Bangladesh’s commitment to continued collaboration on regional and international platforms such as the United Nations and the OIC.

Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed and Egyptian Ambassador Omar Mohi Eldin Ahmed Fahmi also addressed the gathering. The event was attended by diplomats, high commissioners, international representatives, government officials, academics, and members of civil society.
