A defamation complaint has been filed against National Citizen Party (NCP) Chief Organizer (Northern Region) Sarjis Alam, for allegedly linking the BNP to the brutal murder of journalist Tuhin.

Tanvir Siraj, president of Basan Thana BNP, submitted the complaint application before the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Gazipur, demanding Tk 10 crore in damages for defamation.

Tanvir Siraj said, “Journalist Tuhin was brutally murdered for filming a criminal gang. However, without knowing the facts, Sarjis Alam spread baseless propaganda on Facebook linking BNP to the incident, damaging the party’s reputation.”

He further said, “The GMP Commissioner has already uncovered the main mystery behind this murder and said there is no political involvement. Therefore, following party directives, I have filed the case and hope for justice.”

The judge of the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court-2, Alamgir Al Mamun, ordered the Gazipur CID to investigate the case and submit a report following the hearing.
