Running the country and an adventure not the same: Mirza Abbas

BNP standing committee member Mirza Abbas has said that parties that have not yet emerged properly and have not yet taken the form of a political party consider everything an adventure, but running the country and an adventure are not the same.

He said all this at a discussion meeting and cultural program organized by Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Samajik Sangskriktik Songgothon-JASAS’s Dhaka South Metropolitan branch in front of the BNP central office in Nayapaltan in the capital on Saturday.

Regarding the election using the PR method, Mirza Abbas said, “Some parties are talking about the PR method and saying that they will not allow the election to be held, but they have not said this for so many years. Now, who provoked them to do it? The new generation does not even know how to vote, and in the meantime, they are bringing the PR method. They want to create a deadlock in the country with this method. The people will not accept it.”

He said that the people of the country will not be able to forget the history of the Awami League's rule, exploitation, disappearances and murders for 17/18 years.

Criticizing the Awami League, Mirza Abbas said, "Sitting in India, with the instigation and patronage of that country, a conspiracy is being hatched against our country and to sabotage the elections. And there are some other parties who do not want the elections to be held because they have a feeling that if the elections are held, BNP will come to power. Some parties come up with some excuse like: if this does not happen, then that cannot happen and This cannot happen or that cannot happen. The people, who have been in the movement for 17 to 18 years, do not like to hear these things. They want an elected government."
