Will meet countrymen in person soon: Tarique Rahman

BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has said he will soon meet the people of the country in person.

He made the remark while speaking virtually from London as the chief guest at the biennial conference of the BNP’s Rajshahi city unit on Sunday.

Tarique Rahman said, “The majority of the country’s people want to place their trust in the BNP. We must remain united, honor that trust, and work to rebuild the nation. In the parliamentary elections, scheduled to be held before next year’s Ramadan, the first step toward restoring the people’s political rights will be taken. However, many challenges will still remain.”

Recalling the fall of the autocratic government during the July Mass Uprising, he said, “With the all-out effort and cooperation of the people of Bangladesh, we have succeeded in driving autocracy out of this country.”

Lambasting the fascist regime, Tarique Rahman said, “Autocracy has destroyed the nation’s economy, healthcare system, and law enforcement agencies. It is the BNP that will rebuild them, and we are moving toward that goal.”

The BNP leader further said, “Once in power, we must create skilled employment opportunities both at home and abroad. We must spread the light of education among students and build a future for them.”

Addressing party members, he added, “We must take the party to the people, earn their trust, and work alongside them.”
