Telecom policy ahead of polls inappropriate: Fakhrul

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said that formulating a telecom policy ahead of the next national election is inappropriate.

The government should take such steps that truly benefit the country and its people, he opined.  

Mirza Fakhrul made these remarks at a press conference held at the party chairperson’s Gulshan office on Thursday afternoon.

The BNP leader said that the BNP is walking carefully on the path toward the future of politics and democratic transition to ensure a smooth journey.

While speaking at the same press conference, BNP Standing Committee Member Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan alleged that the telecom policy has been formulated to favour large mobile companies.
