BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed on Friday urged Chief Adviser Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus to recognize that the entire nation is anticipating a fair election.
Salahuddin said while addressing a prayer and relief distribution event in front of the T&T Ground on Manik Mia Avenue in Dhaka.
Paying tribute to the party's founder, he said, “Martyr Ziaur Rahman is not just a name, he represents a movement. He was born to secure Bangladesh’s independence and was brutally assassinated to halt the country’s democracy, development, and progress.”
The BNP leader said, “The point is the same, the reforms and trials that are being talked about are an ongoing process. Reforms never end. Reforms continue unabated in line with the needs of society and the people and the country. And the judicial process is being taken forward through an independent judicial system.”
“That judicial process will be taken forward, this is our promise. The needs of the people of Bangladesh, the desire for the blood of martyrs, the expectations of the people of this country, the murderer, the fascist Sheikh Hasina, her party, and her cronies must be brought to justice for all their crimes.”
Salahuddin said, “Ziaur Rahman was born for the country’s independence. Zia was killed to stop the development, democracy, and progress of Bangladesh. Therefore, we will build such a society that there is no need to agitate to restore democracy in the country.”
