Resistance in middle order from Jaker Ali and Shamim Hossain took Bangladesh to something to depend on.
Shamim Hossain scored 42 off 34 and Jaker Ali gathered 41 from same number of balls.
Wanidu Hasaranga took 2 wickets for 25 runs for Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka will come out to bat just after the middle break of the innings to chase the target of 140.
