Education Department has received all the allotted text books for distribution among the students of primary schools in the new year- 2024, in the district. According to District Primary Education Office sources 16 lakh 19 thousand 151 text books were allotted for the students from pre-primary to class five in the district.
The office said 39,170 text books and 39,170 exercise books were allotted for pre-primary students. Besides 1,97,705 books for class one students, 2,04,516 books for class two students, 4,02,690 books for class three students, 3,82,362 books for class four students and 3,53,538 books for class five students were allotted in the district.
District Primary Education Officer, M M Mizanur Rahman said we have received all the allotted text books. The text books have already been dispatched in all the seven upazilas for distribution among the students on the first January, 2024, he added.
Around 25.18 lakh primary students are going to get new books on the first day of the new-year 2024 in all eight districts in the division like other parts of the country.
There are 3,71,630 students in pre-primary class, followed by 4,48,612 students in class one, 4,39,408 in class two, 4,29,827 in class three, 4,25,447 in class four and 4,03,577 students in class five to get books.
Abdus Salam, Divisional Assistant Director of the Department of Primary Education (DPE), 1,09,59,921 books were allocated for 25,18,541 students in the division.
