Syed Salahuddin Zaki, the director, has died. He died on Monday at 11:53 p.m. at United Hospital in Gulshan. Faridur Reza Sagor, the managing director of Channel i, confirmed the death of this acclaimed director. At the time of his death, the filmmaker was 77 years old.
Syed Salahuddin Zaki has a son and a daughter who both live in Canada. After they return to the nation, a choice about his burial will be taken.
Yesterday evening, he was at his Dhanmondi home. His health suddenly deteriorated around 10 p.m. The director rushed him to the United Hospital in Gulshan. The physicians at the hospital informed him that he had died.
Syed Salahuddin Zaki was a scriptwriter, actor, and author in addition to being a director. He won the National picture Award for Best Screenplay in 1980 for his first picture, 'Ghuddi.' Following that, he went on to produce other films, including 'Lal Benarasi' and 'Ayena Bibir Pala.' He was also the Chief Executive of Bangladesh Television in the late 1990s.
He recently finished two films, 'Aparajeyo Eka' and 'Krantikal.' Syed Salahuddin Zaki, on the other hand, was unable to keep up with his previous self due to age-related health difficulties. Even if he wanted to, he couldn't visit the movie sets very often.
He created the film 'Ghuddi,' starring Raisul Islam Asad and Suborna Mustafa, in the early 1980s. Happy Akhand's song 'Abar Elo Je Shondha,' composed by Kawsar Ahmed Chowdhury, became quite popular.
A sequel to the film, starring Deepa Khandakar and Afzal Hossain, was also intended to be shot after 40 years.
