Fakhrul stresses need for strong organization to change society

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said on Friday that strong organization is crucial for social change and revolution.

He spoke at the condolence meeting of Comrade Badruddin Umar at the Abdul Karim Sahitya Bisharad Auditorium of Bangla Academy on Friday afternoon.

Mirza Fakhrul said, “Those who want to change society and change the condition of the common people must strengthen their organizations and become organizationally strong.”

He paid tribute to the late Comrade Badruddin Umar and said that he did not compromise with his ideals and struggle until the last day of his life.

The BNP Secretary General said, “The new generation should learn from idealistic and uncompromising leaders like Badruddin Umar. In the words of the late Badruddin Umar, ‘If you want to make a revolution, you have to go to the people.’”

A minute of silence was observed at the beginning of the mourning ceremony to pay tribute to the late Badruddin Umar. Among others, Mahbubullah, Comrade Khalequzzaman Bhuiyan, Dr. Akmal Hossain, Comrade Sajeeb Roy and Professor Sirajul Islam spoke at the event.
