BNP Standing Committee Member Salahuddin Ahmed said that the party would give its formal feedback on the final draft of the charter by August 20 (Wednesday).
The senior BNP leader told reporters on Sunday that there are some inconsistencies in the final draft of the charter, sent by the National Consensus Commission on Saturday.
“The draft contains inconsistencies on some issues, while certain matters have not been presented properly,” Salahuddin said.
The National Consensus Commission has already circulated the final draft of the charter among different political parties. The document outlines proposals for reforms in the constitution, electoral system, judiciary, civil administration, police force, and anti-corruption measures.
According to the draft, the commission and various political parties have reached consensus on a number of issues. However, it also notes that not all parties agreed on every proposal, with some expressing reservations about specific recommendations.
