The Ministry of Railways has urged passengers to follow health guidelines and wear masks during their return journeys after Eid-ul-Azha.
The ministry made the urge in a press release on Sunday, following a public advisory issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
On June 6, the health ministry requested people to wear masks in crowded areas in the wake of the recent increase in COVID-19 cases in the country.
“Given the rising COVID-19 infection rate, everyone is being requested to wear masks in crowded places. Particularly, elderly and ill individuals are advised to avoid such places,” it said.
As of June 7, the country's total COVID fatalities have reached 29,500 and caseload 20,51,742, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
