Bangladesh’s foreign exchange reserves have increased to $30.87 billion.
The figure was released in a press statement by Bangladesh Bank on Sunday.
As per the latest data, the country’s gross reserves stood at $30,868.73 million as of 24 August.
However, under the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) Balance of Payments Manual-6 (BPM6) reporting framework, the reserves amounted to $25,872.75 million.
Just three days earlier, on 21 August, the gross reserves were $30,856.79 million, while the IMF-calculated reserves stood at $25,861.22 million.
It may be noted that net reserves are calculated under the IMF’s BPM6 methodology, which deducts short-term liabilities from the gross reserves to determine the actual amount.
