Then they threatened and demanded Tk 50 lakh and gold ornaments. When he expressed his inability to pay the money, they called him a friend of the Awami League and threatened to have him arrested by the police and continued to pressure him for money. At one point, the plaintiff in the case, Siddique Abu Zafar, was forced to give him Tk 5 lakh in cash and another Tk 5 lakh from his brother. After this incident, on July 19 at around 10:30 pm, accused Riad and Apu entered the plaintiff's house and knocked on the door of his flat.
When the matter was reported to the Gulshan Police Station on a mobile phone, the accused left. Later, at 5:30 pm on July 26, other accused led by accused Riad came to the plaintiff's house and started looking for him. Later, when the police were informed about the matter, the Gulshan Police Station immediately went to the spot and arrested the five accused red-handed, and at that time the accused named in the complaint, Kazi Gaurab Apu, ran away.
