Farida for imbuing new generation with Liberation War spirit

Editor of the Business Eye and Jatiya Press Club president Farida Yasmin, MP, on Friday stressed on exercising true history of the Liberation War to imbue the new generation with its sprit.

"The true history of the Liberation War should be spread among generation after generation as the youths can take the country ahead being imbued with the spirit of the Liberation War," she told.

The Editor Farida Yasmin told this remark as a chief guest of the 72nd founding anniversary of Central Khelaghar Asar, a cultural organization, was held at Maulana Mohammad Akram Khan Auditorium of Jatiya Press Club in the city on Friday.

Describing freedom fighters as the great sons of this soil, Farida said women freedom fighters had also great contributions to the Liberation War.

She said Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had a dream to build a Sonar Bangla ensuring economic and political emancipation of the people.Bangabandhu's daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been working relentlessly to build a hunger-poverty and repression free Sonar Bangla as dreamt by the Father of the Nation, she said.

Farida Yasmin said Bangladesh has become a role model of development under the dynamic leadership of the premier.

She said the country has already attained the status of a lower middle income country and expressed her hope that Bangladesh will be a developed country by 2041.

The chief guest Farida said the prime minister is very sincere to ensure the well being of the freedom fighters.

Central Khelaghar Asar Chairman Professor Mahfuza Khanom presided over the function while among others, Secretary General Rezaul Kabir, Central Committee member Dr. Abu Sayed, Dr. Kazi Mozammel Hossen, Dr. Lelin Chowdhury, spoke.
