The 13th National Parliament elections will be held in the first half of February next year, said chief election commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin.
He said this while talking to reporters at the Rangpur Divisional Commissioner's office on Saturday.
He said, “No opportunity will be given to disrupt the upcoming election. Law enforcement agencies will be vigilant in this regard. However, if any incident occurs, a decision will be taken to stop the voting upon proper investigation. The Election Commission will do everything to hold a free, fair and acceptable election.”
He also said that the commission is working on who can be deployed in the election and the matter will become clear in time.
