BGB deployed in Dhaka amid growing tensions

Four platoons of BGB have been deployed in different parts of Dhaka amid growing tensions over the deteriorating law and order situation.

The BGB members were deployed at Shahbagh, Matshaya Bhaban and Hotel Intercontinental areas on Tuesday afternoon, said Md Shariful Islam, Public Relations Officer at the BGB headquarters.

Tensions have been prevailing in the capital due to recent blockade programmes, demonstrations and clashes causing immense suffering to the city residents.
