BAF training plane crashes in Ctg, pilots unharmed 

A fighter training aircraft of the Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) crashed in city's Patenga area here today as two pilots safely deplaned by parachutes, an official said.

“The YAK130 training aircraft of the air force crashed in Patenga area around 11 am,” said Shah Amanat International Airport Manager Squadron Leader Tasnim Ahmed.

The pilots on board were unharmed and they safely disembarked from the aircraft, he said. 

Later, they were rescued from the crashed site and sent to the base. 

Divers, fire fighters, sailors of different ships stationed at the river port are working to find out the wreckage of the crashed plane.

Duty officer of Patenga Police Station Nurul Islam also confirmed the incident, saying the pilots were safe.
