Annual Sports Competition and Freedom Fighters’ Appreciation Ceremony – 2024 held

 

An event in the family of Averroes International School Mirpur Branch the top English medium school in Bangladesh, is always an extraordinary affair, resonating with emotions, sentiments, and a significance that is profoundly unique. As in previous years, the Annual Sports Competition and Freedom Fighters' Appreciation Ceremony-2024 concluded on Thursday, 29th February 2024, at the playground of Mirpur Sare 11 City Club Field.

The event's chief guest was Khan Mohammad Akhtaruzzaman-Founder Chairman of Averroes International School Mirpur Branch.

Special guests included Taijul Islam Chowdhury Bappy Councillor, Dhaka North City Corporation Ward 06; Islamic scholars Professor Mokhtar Ahmed,Golam Mostafa, Director, Averroes International School; Liton Abdullah- Regional Development Manager, Pearson PLC; Kazi Nahian, Country Manager, Cambridge University Press, Mr. Shahin Reza-Country Manager, Cambridge Assessment International Education, alongside the management council and managing committee members of Averroes  International School and other invited dignitaries.

Founding Chairman Khan Mohammad Akhtarujjaman delivered the keynote speech as the chairperson of the event. The entire event was meticulously planned, managed, and executed by the Chief Executive Officer and Principal of Averroes International School, Mohammad Anisur Rahaman Sohagh.

In accordance with the earlier announcement, approximately 600 students from the Mirpur campus of Averroes International School participated in 130 games during the event, with prizes distributed among the winners. In the latter part of the ceremony, 32 freedom fighters from the Averroes family were honored. Averroes  International School Mirpur Branch, as a tradition, annually pays tribute to these freedom fighters. During this uninterrupted event, the freedom fighters, in their speeches, recounted their experiences of resilience during the liberation war, their unwavering anticipation for victory, and their longing for the return of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

In his address as the chairman, the school's founder, Khan Mohammad Akhtaruzzaman, expressed, "Averroes International School holds a special place in my heart, transcending mere business; it is akin to a cherished child. I extend my deepest gratitude to Almighty Allah for bestowing upon me this opportunity. I also fondly remember the father of the nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, and express my heartfelt appreciation to Bangladesh's visionary leader, Sheikh Hasina, whose leadership has propelled us to global recognition and remarkable achievements in education."
